Wow What an Adjustment

So it all finally sunk in this week... and I found myself wondering what I had done?  I will spare you most of the details, but this week has been a learning and growing experience for sure!!

Monday through Wednesday has been spent with the kids and the French speaking nanny.  I really am still amazed at how much communication we can do without a common language.  Francesca started school today!  That makes the day a little bit more peaceful! I took Alex on a walk today which was so nice.  I also made a leg of lamb for the first time in my life.... LOL!  Anne-Marie asked me to because it takes a long time to cook (sort of like a roast) and she is at work today.  I was happy to take on the challenge.  I put it in a big pot and added lots of vegetables and stock, herbs and garlic... and a little wine of course.  It will hopefully turn out great... I'll let you know.  Michael was kind to buy me some comfort food at the grocery store last night.  He even bought me some Diet Coke!! I haven't had any since I left... can you believe that?  It is hard to believe.  He bought me some chips and a few other American staples like peanut butter ;)

We are going to France this weekend to their other house.  It will be nice to get out and explore some more.  I'm also working on finding some friends over here which would be such a great addition and very much needed!

Skype is the most wonderful thing! I'm pretty sure I would be so lost without it.  It is good to be able to talk to my mom and other friends for free.

Thanks for following me along on this journey... and a journey it is.

**** Well the lamb was a success... they say I can do it again ;)

How fun it will be to go to France. Chloe envisions France to be the most wonderful place and Paris the best city in the world. I hope she travels there someday to find out. Keep enjoying your adventure.

Great job on the lamb...of course it was a success, you know what you're doing!!

So great that you have a family there that cares for your needs enough to get you special things like Diet Coke and Peanut Butter (both things I would GLADLY go without...ha!)

Have you found a church to go to or is that something you're working on? And you should definitely watch the podcasts from Windsor, it will probably help you feel more connected. :)

And please tell me you've started saying "the loo" instead of "the bathroom"!! :)
